My Everyday Makeup Routine

Happy Monday guys! What better way to start off the week than with some makeup! Am I right?! I don’t know about you, but I need makeup that I know will come through for me…especially on a Monday morning. So I thought I would share with you my favorite go-to makeup products that I use pretty much every day! These are my ride or dies and what I basically need to help me not look like I haven’t slept in days. Below, I’ll list out each product I use and let you know why it’s my fave…

  • First, I start out with the Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm. And boy is this stuff balm (bomb). It dries down to a tacky finish which is perfect because that helps your foundation really stick to your skin and stay in place all day. It doesn’t have any sort of scent, so if you’re sensitive to smell this product won’t bother you. Shop Hereimg_1598

  • Next, I’ll go in with my foundation. I am currently using the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy and Smooth foundation in shade 315. This foundation is medium coverage but still somehow looks very natural on the skin. It covers up my blemishes but also gives my skin a nice overall glow…not a greasy pig looking glow but a natural glow. Highly recommend if you have dry skin and are looking for a pretty full coverage foundation but with an overall natural dewy finish. Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 4.46.20 PM

  • After foundation, I use liquid blush. My current favorite is Nars Orgasm. Since it’s summer time I don’t like to put a lot of powder products on my face because that can look cakey at times…so I’ve started using this liquid blush and it’s seriously a game changer. I dab it on the apples of my cheeks with a damp beauty blender and it gives me the perfect flush of color. It’s very natural looking but at the same time gives your cheeks a golden shimmer…perfect for summer! Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 4.53.04 PM

  • Once I’m done with blush I’ll go in for that life-giving highlight. I use the TreStique highlight stick (another cream product). I dab it onto my beauty blender and hit the high points of my cheeks. Now this highlight won’t be beaming up to the heavens but it will be beaming up to the first layer of clouds. In normal person terms…it’s not subtle but it’s not too in your face either, which is perfect for an every day look. Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 4.56.15 PM

  • While I’m waiting for the cream products to dry, I will run a spoolie through my brows. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer for this step. She is the queen of brows and the spoolies on her products are the best. I have super thick and bushy brows…like literally animals could hide in them to get away from predators…they’re that bushy. I’m actually very lucky that thick defined brows are “in” these days because all I need to do is comb them out and I’m good to go!      Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 6.13.05 PM

  • Once those cream products have dried I’ll go in with my Makeup Forever HD Pressed Powder in translucent. I’ll take a big fluffy brush and sweep this all over my face to set down the cream products. Believe me when I say, this will literally make your face feel like a baby’s bottom. My face feels and looks so smooth. This product doesn’t have any glitter in it…which I love. A lot of setting powders (looking at you Laura Mercier) have tiny flecks of glitter in them, which I’m all about if I’m hitting the town at midnight but not all about while food shopping at Ralphs at 11am.   Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 6.06.32 PM

  • After I set the face I go in with a bit of bronzer and for that I use the old school favorite…Benefit Hula. A real OG. A real OB, if you will (Original Bronzer). I will buff this into the hollows of my cheeks, up on the temples, and also down around my jaw line. Gotta do everything I can to make it seem like I don’t, in fact, have a double chin. This bronzer isn’t too orange-y and it doesn’t go on patchy. It will give you a nice overall bronzed look without having to spend 6 hours at the beach.   Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 5.05.12 PM

  • Now we move onto the eyes…and for that I start by curling them with an eye lash curler. Then I’ll go in with some Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer. This stuff really does the trick…it might seem like an annoying extra step but trust me it’s worth it. Give your lashes one coat of this and they will literally triple in length once you put on your regular mascara. The trick with this is once you put it on your lashes, you have to immediately put your regular mascara on. Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 5.09.08 PM

  • After I put the lash primer on, I go in with the Marc Jacobs Velvet Nior mascara in black. Now let me tell ya…this stuff is clumpy dumpy. If you can live with that then the mascara itself does a great job of volumizing and lengthening your lashes. It’s super black and makes it seem like you’re wearing your girls night out falsies!   Shop HereScreen Shot 2017-08-14 at 5.12.57 PM

  • Last but certainly not least is setting spray. Who doesn’t love a good setting spray! I’m currently using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. The mist is just right (it doesn’t camel spit at you) and it keeps my makeup in place all day. Can’t get much better than that!
