Nightly Skincare Routine

Skincare Routine blog pic 3 8:28

I recently started a YouTube channel and a few people have left comments telling me my skin looks really nice and asking me what my skincare routine is. Well I’m here today to give you the low down. First, can I just say that this picture angle makes it look like these skincare products bout to drop the most fire album of 2017. (reminds me of the pigeon one) UiEBatx

ANYWAY…growing up I had pretty bad skin. I had acne but I also had these tiny bumps all over my face (no one could really tell me why I had them, which was frustrating). I was extremely self conscious, especially in high school. I wouldn’t want to get too close to people because I didn’t want them to see my skin. It was a real struggle. I tried tons of skincare products, both inexpensive and expensive, but nothing really helped. Then one day about a year ago it all of a sudden just cleared up. The little bumps and everything. HALLELUJAH!! It was around that time that I started using these products that are in the picture above and I have been using them ever since.

Ok enough of this jibber jabber and let’s get into the routine…

Step 1: I take my makeup off with a makeup wipe. I use the Neutrogena ones because I find them to be very hydrating. Now that I’m typing this I’m wondering why on earth I didn’t include them in the picture…

Step 2: Then, I use the Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap as my face wash. Try not to be turned off by the name! I know seaweed is usually only good in the water and in sushi but trust me, you should try this face wash. It has little beads of seaweed grains that help gently exfoliate your skin. It also has Bladderwrack extract (what the heck) which helps soften the skin. If you have sensitive skin like me you will love this face wash. It’s not harsh but it gets the job done.

Step 3: Next, I use the Derma E Purifying Toner Mist. It has marine algae (just now realizing how much I incorporate the ocean into my skincare routine…huh) and green tea which fortifies your skin against everyday pollutants. I like this because it does a great job of cleansing my skin and I think it helps prevent breakouts. It’s in a spray bottle, which is weird for a toner, but I actually like it because it distributes the product evenly all over my face.

Step 4: After the toner has sunken into my skin and dried completely, I will go in with another spray…the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. I’m sure you all have heard of this product before…it’s basically what Mario Baedscu’s known for. This spray is sooo refreshing and that’s mainly why I use it. It’s also great at hydrating my skin. Not only will I use this at night before bed, but I will spray it on my face in the morning or any time I feel like my skin needs a pick me up.

Step 5: Last but not least (I know, after 4 steps you’re thinking, when is this woman going to be done) is the moisturizer. I use the Derma E Vitamin C Intense Night Cream. I absolutely love this stuff. It is so thick and creamy but it sinks right into the skin. I wake up the next morning and my face is completely hydrated. The best thing about this product is that it smells like Fruit Loops! Seriously, it does. Every time I smell this I’m like I need a bowl of Fruit Loops in front of me. STAT. But then I’m like no Meg, it’s 11 o’clock at night you can’t drive to the grocery store to buy Fruit Loops. Control yourself. I only use this at night though, because it is so intense and thick. In the morning and during the day I use my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer.

So there ya have it! My skincare routine! I do test out new skincare products here and there but I will always go back to these tried and true favorites because they don’t ever let me down.
