I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve done a beauty post on here! But that’s about to change because I really wanted to share with you guys my all time fave, holy grail skincare products! I was cleaning out my bathroom drawers the other day and was really focusing on getting rid of any skincare products that I didn’t like or just didn’t use anymore. So now, all I’m left with are the products I can’t live without. Some are affordable and some are more high-end…I tend to splurge on moisturizers and save on face wash.
All of these products are geared toward people with dry skin. My skin is constantly dry and I need to moisturize it at least 3 times a day. I also have a very tiny bit of texture on my cheeks so I like to exfoliate at least 3 times a week to keep that texture at bay. Anyway, let’s get talkin’ about skincare! Please let me know in the comments below what your holy grail skincare products are…I would love to test out some new ones!
Here are the products that I’m going to be talking about. I did leave out one of my favorite masks (whoops) but we’ll get into that later.
Ok side note-I literally live in this robe. It’s the softest, comfiest, bougie-est thing you’ll ever wear…and it’s awesome.
Garnier SkinActive Deep Pore Exfoliating Scrub ($6.99) – I love a good exfoliator and when I found this a couple months ago, I immediately fell in love. It smells really fresh and it isn’t jam packed with exfoliator beads (which I’m happy about). It also doesn’t dry out my skin (yay!). It’s made with green tea which is supposed to be really good for your skin. Green tea is made up of catechins. Catechins are basically antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous agents. Sounds awesome to me!
Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser ($30) – On days when I don’t exfoliate, I use this Boscia cleanser. It’s surprisingly gentle on the skin and when you rub it in, the cleanser feels hot on your face. It’s definitely a weird sensation at first but once you get used to it, it’s not so bad! My skin definitely feels so much cleaner when I’m done using this product.
L’Oreal Pure Sugar Scrub Nourish and Soften ($9.99) – This is a scrub I use mainly in the mornings. It’s super exfoliating and leaves my skin feeling baby smooth and super hydrated. A lot of times I will use this right before I put my makeup on because it acts as another kind of primer (since it softens and hydrates the skin). This product is great for all skin types so I highly highly recommend it!
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion ($27) – I have been using this moisturizer for as long as I can remember. It’s super moisturizing and a little goes a long way. Usually, I’ll use this on days when my skin feels like the Sahara Desert. I do have another day time moisturizer that I will talk about next, but I use that one on days when my skin is just a “normal” dry (lol). Since it is so moisturizing, it does take a bit longer to sink into the skin…but the results are definitely worth the wait.
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Refreshing and Refining Moisturizer ($39) – I really love this stuff. It’s on the higher end but I really do think it’s worth the money and it pairs perfectly with the next moisturizer I will talk about. This one is specifically for daytime use and the next one is for nighttime use. Like I said above, I use this on “normal” dry days. It still is really moisturizing and hydrating but not quite as much as the Clinique one. I love the smell of this one though…very fresh and light. Also, my skin actually feels plumper after I use this product so if you’re looking for a skin boosting and plumping moisturizer this is the one for you!
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Overnight Recharging and Refining Moisturizer ($49) – I mean could these names get any longer?! Anyway, this is the nighttime moisturizer I use and it’s BOMB. It’s super thick and hydrating and smells just as good as the daytime one. Even though it’s thick, it sinks right into my skin so I don’t have to worry about it rubbing off during the night. When I wake up in the morning my face looks so much brighter, even-toned and hydrated. Again, it is on the pricier side but it’s sooo worth the splurge.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17) – I feel like this everyones holy grail skincare product…and for good reason! It’s amazing at drying up those annoying blemishes and leaving your face looking smooth and flawless! All you have to do is drop a Q-tip in the jar, get some of that pink stuff on the tip, and then put it on top of any blemishes you have. Leave it on for at least an hour (the longer the better) and then gently rinse it off with warm water. This is miracle stuff that I think everyone needs!
Glamglow SuperMud Mask ($59) – This stuff is no joke. It’s the most intense clearing mask I’ve ever tried. If you have sensitive skin, do not use this…but my skin isn’t sensitive so I absolutely love it. I’ll put it on for about ten minutes and then rinse it off. After I rinse it off, my face is pretty red but once it calms down, my skin is bright, even-toned, plumped and smooth. The only thing is, is that you really need to put on a moisturizer immediately after using this because it is so drying. I will pair this mask with another Glamglow mask (the ThirstyMud one) which I will talk about next!
Glamglow ThirstyMud Mask ($59) – I always use this mask after the SuperMud one. Since it is so intensely hydrating, it’s a perfect follow-up. I will leave this on for about a half hour and then will rub it into my skin to help it sink in completely. I won’t rub it off with water or a washcloth because that takes away from the hydration the mask gives my skin. Once it’s completely sunken in, my skin is literally glowing and looks so healthy. If you have dry skin, you need to run to Sephora try this out.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Cream ($6.99)– I had to include this hand cream in my holy grail products review because I really do use it every single day. Well actually I use it every night before bed. The scent is a bit strong but once it sinks in you can’t smell it anymore. This cream is super moisturizing and I really do think it makes a difference on my hands. If I put it on overnight, the next day my hands won’t get dry…but if I don’t put the cream on, my hands will usually start to get dry around 2 or 3pm.
Earth Therapeutics Cooling Foot Scrub ($9.00) – Again, this isn’t technically skincare but it does have something to do with skin…just on your feet (lol). I had to include it because it really has changed my feet. (Warning: if you don’t like talking or hearing about feet then don’t read this!) The heels and balls of my feet always get super dry during the winter so I will use this scrub about 2 times a week and instantly notice a difference! It’s really cooling so it actually feels good when you’re applying it. The scrub basically just exfoliates and moisturizes your feet so afterwards, they’re super smooth, moisturized and healthy looking. After using it, I’ll put some moisturizer on and then put some fuzzy socks on to really help that moisture fully sink into my skin. I promise you, if you use this scrub, moisturize and then wear fuzzy socks for like ten minutes, your feet will feel (and look) like new!!
Sorry to end this post talking about feet (haha!). But I hope you enjoyed it and maybe found some new products to try! Again, feel free to let me know what your holy grail skincare products are because I always love discovering new products!
