Easter Rice Krispie Treat Birds Nests

“Hoppy” almost Easter everyone! Easter is one of my favorite holidays (besides Christmas and Thanksgiving). I love the all the pretty pastel colors, the candy, the family time, and the cute outfits. Every year on Easter morning (yes, still to this day even though I’m 24), my mom hides our Easter baskets and writes us a poem…a poem (usually containing the phrase “hop out of bed”) that will help us find where our baskets are hidden. Even though I’m not a kid anymore, it’s still a really fun family thing to do and I look forward to it every year!

For Easter dinner, my family (could be 7 of us, could be 21…just depends on the year) either goes out to eat or cooks at home. For dessert, someone always makes something Easter related (well duh Meg), whether that’s a bunny cake, Easter sugar cookies, or these Rice Krispie treat birds nests! I’ve made these a couple times for our family’s Easter dessert and they’re always a huge hit. I mean just look at how cute they are!

They’re also super easy to make. And I mean super easy. You only need 5 ingredients and it takes about 15 minutes to make them! These are also super fun to make with little kids…they could help mold the birds nests or place the “eggs” on top of the “grass”. If you haven’t had Rice Krispie treats in years, these are sure to take you right back to your childhood. And who doesn’t love that?! So grab your apron, a spatula and that bag of marshmallows and let’s get bakin’!

And yes, I did go outside on our apartment complex’s communal lawn and have a photoshoot with my Easter dessert…the things we do to get the perfect picture…am I right?!
